Chicken Chicken are found in pastures and wooded areas. They lay eggs, which you can find on the ground in areas they inhabit. They can also be killed to yield Raw Chicken Meat, that can be cooked to Cooked Chicken Meat and Feathers, which are useful in making arrows.
Cow Cows are big and slow and yield Leather, that can make Leather Armor and Beef, that can be cooked to make Steak. And they also yield milk.
Pig Pigs are a common, easily farmed source of food, which yield Raw Porkchop, that can be cooked for Porkchops. Saddles can also be placed on pigs so your player can mount and ride them.
Sheep Sheep are mostly a source of Wool, useful in making Beds, and decorative items like paintings. They are best handled with Shears, crafted with two pieces of metal, which will yield three pieces of Wool. killing sheep only gives you one piece of Wool. Sheep naturally appear in six different colors. (Order of Rarity) White, Light Grey, Dark Grey, Black, Brown, and 0.16% percent of sheep are Pink. Sheep can also be dyed these colors and many others. Dying the sheep's wool then shearing it will yield more Wool than shearing and then using the dyes.
Wolf Wolves are a type of mob that can be allied with your player once tamed by giving them a bone. They are agile creatures, as they jump and run on land and swim in lakes and oceons. They will shake themselves dry when they reach the shore after a swim or if drenched by rain, or otherwise come in contact with water.
Ocelot Ocelots are passive mobs that normally spawn in Jungle Biomes. They are the second tameable mob to be introduced into Minecraft, the first being Wolves. When tamed, they become cats, which are also passive. When Ocelots are tamed, they turn into one of three different cat skins. Taming an Ocelot will most often yield a tabby cat, while tuxedo cats are a bit less common. Siamese cats are fairly rare. Cats will follow your player and will teleport if they are too far away. They also tend to attack Chickens at random. Creepers will run away from Ocelots and cats, making them a great defense against creepers; they won't try to get close to any cats, even if attacked and provoked by the player. Cats do not take fall damage and they will never attack hostile mobs. To make your house Creeper proof, tame enough Ocelots into cats and then make them sit around your house.
Squid Squids are aquatic Mobs and though they look intimidating, they are neutral and will not attack you. They don't drop any important items, but their Ink Sacs can be used for dye for Wool. Squids can only swim side to side and down, which can lead them into getting trapped.
Mooshroom Mooshrooms are unique forms of Cows that spawn in mushroom biomes.
